Lanoha Nurseries, Inc is adding an Entry-Level Landscape Designer, who will be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality design solutions. Under the mentorship of an Executive Landscape Designer, you will gain hands-on experience in design, project planning, client relations, and the overall workflow of landscape architecture.
Learning Opportunities
- Gain comprehensive experience in the design process, from concept development to project execution.
- Develop a strong understanding of landscape design principles, plant selection, and sustainable design practices.
- Learn best practices for client management and communication.
- Receive mentorship in design tools, techniques, and project management from the Executive Designer.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or similar platforms is a plus!
- Basic knowledge of landscape design principles and plant materials.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and creativity.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
- Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally friendly design practices.
- Experience with hand-drawing or rendering landscape designs.
- Familiarity with construction practices and materials.
Responsibilities
- Assist an Executive Landscape Designer in creating conceptual and detailed landscape designs.
- Conduct site visits to gather information and measurements for projects.
- Produce digital and hand-drawn sketches, plans, and layouts using design software
- Assist with preparing project proposals, cost estimates, and materials specifications.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop creative solutions that meet client needs.
- Conduct research on plants, materials, and design trends to support project development.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members during all phases of design and construction.
- Support project management by tracking timelines, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring projects stay within budget.
- Assist with presentations for internal and client meetings.
