Lanoha Nurseries is proud to provide top of the line trucks, trailers, and equipment + a great mechanic team to keep our fleet moving. The Mechanic Shop Supervisor will contribute to the design and workflows for a newly constructed mechanic shop and support the expansion of the mechanic team to add 2 additional mechanics. Full time / year round career opportunity with full time benefits.
Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Educational background in mechanics or tenure in previous roles as a diesel mechanic
- Ability to lead a mechanic shop team with an organizational support focused team mentality
- Ability to lead by example with analyzing and prioritizing incoming repair requests. Ability to appropriately apply urgency where needed
- Ability to lift 50lbs; safe lifting techniques & use of lifting support resources
- Possession of own tools
- Excellent communication skills; internal and external communication and representation of company
- Computer skills; Email, inventory management software, internal work order processes
- Mechanic software skills; fleet maintenance software, engine diagnostic software
- Knowledge of DOT Regulations
- Drivers License required. CDL is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Mechanical maintenance of multiple types of equipment including commercial trucks, vehicles and hydraulic tree spades.
- Diagnostics and repairs on gas & diesel engines, agricultural and heavy equipment
- Mechanic shop work and on-site repairs; directly training & working alongside mechanic team
- Planning and carrying out preventive maintenance programs
- Team mentality; cross collaboration and prioritization with divisional leadership and operators
- Safety resource for mechanic shop, team, and shop visitors
- Shop resource for waste prevention efforts. Inventory management for tools, parts, equipment, & vendor selections
- Direct and indirect supervision of the mechanic shop team. Task assignments, labor hours associated, quality control
- Leadership by example through positive motivation, quality onboarding and training of new employees, and regular performance follow ups to validate quality on tasks assigned to mechanic shop team.
